Daikanyama TSUTAYA Bookstore opened in 2011 as a "cultural stronghold for adults," with the aim of once again proposing a new lifestyle to the generation that visited TSUTAYA when it first opened in 1983, and providing an adult lifestyle to everyone. At Tsutaya Bookstore, concierges with expertise in a variety of fields, including humanities, cars, architecture, art, travel, and cooking, produce the entire sales floor, from book selection and shelf arrangement to event planning, stimulating cultural sensibilities with their unique "power of proposal" backed by experience. Each Tsutaya bookstore has a theme, such as "Slow Life and Slow Food" at Shonan Tsutaya Bookstore, "Work" at Umeda Tsutaya Bookstore, and "Local Community" at Hakodate Tsutaya Bookstore. They offer a relaxing, home-like space that satisfies adults' intellectual curiosity.

Starbucks Business

In 2003, we worked with Starbucks Coffee Japan Co., Ltd. to create Japan's first "BOOK & CAFE" style store at TSUTAYA TOKYO ROPPONGI (now Roppongi Tsutaya Bookstore), where customers could choose a book while enjoying the aroma of coffee, and then read the book they purchased on the spot while sipping coffee. Since then, under a licensing agreement with Starbucks Coffee Japan Co., Ltd., we have expanded our stores nationwide, offering the "BOOK & CAFE style itself," and are operating our own directly managed stores.
In addition to operating the store and selling Starbucks tumblers and other items at the bar counter, BOOK & CAFE is establishing a new style of bookstore by combining the functions of a bookstore and a cafe, such as by stocking books and related goods on coffee and using the bookstore's event space to hold coffee-related events.

Wellness Business

The form of wellness that CCC aims for is "not training but conditioning."
The gap between healthy life expectancy and average life expectancy is approximately 10 years. We have defined that what is necessary to live a long, healthy and happy life is to "balance the mind and body," and "TSUTAYA Conditioning" is the space we propose to achieve this.
In a cozy space surrounded by books, you can do Pilates or yoga, pedal an aerobic bike while reading a book, get a full-body workout on a circuit machine equipped with the latest AI, or even just come and read a book without exercising.
For Pilates, we also operate standalone machine Pilates stores that are women-only and offer small group classes, making them safe for those experiencing machine Pilates for the first time, or those who are not used to exercising and lack confidence.
In addition, our Wellness Data Bank business, which can train and dispatch Pilates instructors, who are in short supply in Japan, allows us to dispatch high-quality instructors to franchise stores, events, etc., thereby supporting stable business operations.
Based on the themes of "like" and "fun" that CCC has developed up until now, we are providing a comfortable space that will help you develop new exercise habits.

"Create a world with what you love. SHIBUYA TSUTAYA was renovated and reopened in 2024 with the theme, "This strategic store will be a touchstone for CCC, as it continues to offer new proposals in line with the times, embodying CCC's lifestyle proposals and its goal of creating a new, unprecedented "cultural infrastructure," centered around the experiential value of combining "experiences" such as content and events that can be enjoyed by everyone, 365 days a year, across nationalities and generations, using IP from around the world, with the comfortable "space" that only CCC can provide.

SHIBUYA TSUTAYA

"Create a world with what you love. The "IP Bookstore," located on the 6th floor of SHIBUYA TSUTAYA, which reopened in 2024 with the theme "IP Entertainment," is a new style of bookstore that brings together Japan's leading IP entertainment content, such as comics, anime, and VTubers (Virtual YouTubers), and allows fans to connect with each other.
The store mainly sells comics, figures, and merchandise, and more than half of the products are original, limited edition items produced by "IP Bookstore."We also hold autograph sessions and VTuber events, and offer content that can only be experienced at "IP Bookstore."Currently, the company has opened the Osaka IP Bookstore on the basement floor of TSUTAYA EBISUBASHI, and is expanding throughout Japan and overseas, promoting the appeal of Japanese IP content both domestically and internationally.
