"Takeo Travel Bookstore" / "Takeo Onsen Station Tourist Information Center" that conveys the charm of the region

With the opening of the Nishikyushu Shinkansen in 2022, Takeo Travel Bookstore and the Takeo Onsen Station Tourist Information Center opened at Takeo Onsen Station, sharing the concept of discovering unknown charms from Takeo.

Takeo Travel Bookstore, which mainly stocks books related to travel

Takeo Travel Bookstore is a "BOOK & CAFE / BAR" style bookstore that stocks around 1,000 books related to travel, including books on the regional characteristics and culture of various parts of Western Kyushu, and novels to accompany your travels. The bookshelves surrounding the store are divided into nine themes, including learning about, traveling in, living in, and urban development in Nishikyushu, allowing you to learn more about the charms of Nishikyushu from a variety of perspectives.

At the cafe, you can enjoy original blend coffee, lemon green tea made with Ureshino tea, a specialty of Saga Prefecture, and lemongrass, a specialty of Takeo City, as well as local sake and craft beer, all served in Takeo ware or Arita ware. If you find any of these dishes that you like, they are available for purchase at either facility.

You can relax while waiting for your Shinkansen or planning your trip by enjoying baguettes from a popular bakery in Takeo City, original sandwiches made with prosciutto from a handmade ham specialty shop, and sweets.
Furthermore, as a select shop in Western Kyushu, Takeo Tabi Shoten not only sells books, but also a wide range of products that can only be purchased in Western Kyushu. Based on the three themes of "food," "lifestyle," and "regional POPUP," the store offers a selection of exquisite products packed with the charms of various parts of Western Kyushu, from alcohol and food to pottery and miscellaneous goods.

It also serves as a community where local residents and tourists can interact without discrimination.

Takeo Travel Bookstore offers events that are open to both local residents and tourists, proposing a place where people can learn about, see, touch, and experience the people, events, things, culture, and history of Takeo City and Western Kyushu.
Not only will the event allow visitors to experience the culture, but it also aims to allow local residents and tourists to interact with each other, allowing each to experience the charms of Western Kyushu from a new perspective.

"Takeo Onsen Station Tourist Information Center" spreads the appeal of Takeo City more widely and deeply

The Takeo Onsen Station Tourist Information Center is located directly in front of you after exiting the ticket gate for the conventional line. The original Takeo City Tourist Information Center was renovated and opened, and is operated by CCC.
Once you pass through the noren curtain at the entrance, you will find an interior design that inherits the checkered pattern of the magnificent all-marble bath "Takeo Onsen Tonosama-yu," built in the mid-Edo period as the private bath for the feudal lord Takeo Nabeshima. Merchandise is displayed using bathtubs and other items, and the shop welcomes tourists as a window into the hot spring town of Takeo.

In addition to its tourist information functions, such as bicycle rentals and luggage storage, the Takeo Onsen Station Tourist Information Center also sells local products from Takeo City. Additionally, Takeo ware works are displayed on a large table in the center of the adjacent waiting area for conventional trains, making it a gallery that visitors can enjoy.
Through the Takeo Travel Bookstore and the Takeo Onsen Station Tourist Information Center, we will continue to offer suggestions to tourists and local residents to help them gain a deeper understanding of the charm and culture of Takeo City and Western Kyushu.
