A new cultural landmark (sacred place) facing Shibuya Scramble Crossing
Shibuya is a city where cultures that carry a lot of love come together, and where people who know that love meet across race, borders, gender, and generations.
And lots of love creates new passion, which moves the times forward and creates culture.
SHIBUYA TSUTAYA is a new cultural landmark (holy land) facing Shibuya Scramble Crossing, a global tourist destination, that offers experiential value by combining experiences such as content and events that can captivate everyone, regardless of nationality or generation, 365 days a year, with our unique, comfortable space.
The revamped SHIBUYA TSUTAYA logo
The revamped SHIBUYA TSUTAYA logo evokes the image of creating a new, unprecedented "cultural infrastructure" that will propose lifestyles through experiences such as content and events that can captivate everyone, regardless of nationality or generation, 365 days a year, using IP from around the world.
In addition to the light, airy, and original font design, the icon, which resembles a blank canvas and is based on the letter "T," the initial letter of TSUTAYA, will serve as a symbol for future collaborations with various IPs.
The new SHIBUYA TSUTAYA logo was designed by designer Kenya Hara (President and CEO of Nippon Design Center), who was also involved in the overall design direction of the TSUTAYA BOOKS logo.
