We hold over 300 exhibitions annually through collaboration with Tsutaya Bookstores and external parties.

We promote 'a life with art' via store planning, media and events, exhibitions at Ginza and Kyoto Tsutaya Bookstores, 300+ events, and Asian art fairs from 2023. (Updated Mar 21, 2025)

For exhibitions with popular artists, we produce a collection of works and editions in a seamless process.

In order to maximize the value of talented artists, we provide the necessary support for artists to flourish, such as organizing exhibitions and events, planning and producing portfolios, editions of works, and merchandise, as well as sales and promotion through our network of stores and e-commerce sites. When Moe Nakamura's exhibition was held at GINZA ATRIUM, the central event space of Ginza TSUTAYA BOOKS in 2023, the book editing team, who prepared the collection of works "before the dawn," and the multiple production team, who planned the editions of 3D and print works, began preparations more than a year in advance of the exhibition, in time for the opening day.

We are also planning invitation-only events for art fans who have registered as members. Providing opportunities for guests to interact directly with artists

"ART SESSION," which has been held since 2023, is an in-house planned event that was started based on the concept of the word "SESSION."The exhibition features a diverse lineup of works that intersects the current state of different generations who continue to challenge themselves with new forms of expression in the contemporary art scene, including artists who are active worldwide, artists who have attracted attention at domestic art fairs and competitions, and artists with diverse cultural backgrounds such as street, fashion, and graphic design, centered around artists who have previously held exhibitions with us. One of the attractions of the event is that it has invitation-only open days and parties where artists can interact directly with special guests who have registered as members. When the event was held at Ginza TSUTAYA BOOKS in January 2024, a total of about 30 artists gathered at the venue. In the fall of the same year, the first ART SESSION was held at Kyoto TSUTAYA BOOKS, in collaboration with art fairs held in various locations in Kyoto and Kyoto Takashimaya, with mutual customer referrals. The wide variety of artworks displayed throughout the store was well received by art fans from the Kansai area and visitors from overseas.

Supporting young artists by exhibiting at overseas art fairs and holding charity auctions

As TSUTAYA BOOKS continues to open stores in the Asia-Pacific region and its brand image becomes more widely known, it has been exhibiting at international art fairs overseas since 2023. Starting with "ART TAIPEI," the exhibition will also participate in "ART ONO (Seoul)" in April 2024, "ART 021 HONGKONG" in August, and "ART 021 SHANGHAI" in November. We are promoting artists who share our activities to the world. In addition, in the fall of 2024, we will co-host the "ASUE Charity Art Auction" with Artfield Co., Ltd. A portion of the proceeds from this event, which aims to support young artists in their endeavors overseas, will be donated to the Japan Foundation as funds for these artists to undertake overseas ventures. We hope that our ongoing efforts will help further the development of contemporary art in Japan.

We also support the introduction of art to businesses by proposing conceptual spatial displays using a selection of artworks and art books.

Our expert staff will produce impressive spaces tailored to your purpose and situation, whether for corporate or individual clients, including art collections and proposing artworks for newly opened spaces. When it comes to book selection and display, we direct the concept work and spatial presentation of bookshelves that tell a story in line with the facility concept, target audience, and spatial design.

Case 1: Richmond Hotel Premier Tokyo Scuola (RNT Hotels Co., Ltd.)
Based on the concept of "Club Culture," we offer a time to discover, explore, and enjoy new cultures.

The scenery around Oshiage was photographed and the image was projected onto the same location using a projector. Masahiro Masuda's eight-part series "Moment's" (87-91) was created by repeating the process of photographing from the same viewpoint multiple times and then silkscreening the images onto canvas. The overlap of time, space, and prints is expressed.

As an experiential hotel, we have captured various cultures through the lens of TSUTAYA BOOKS, and produced a multi-layered space using books, home appliances, interior design, and more. The overall concept is "Club Culture," and we envision it as "another hotel within a hotel" where people who want to enjoy culture can gather. The concept floor on the 13th floor, which was art directed by Ginza TSUTAYA BOOKS, uses art books to express the transition from Edo to Tokyo. Other exhibits include works by Masahiro Masuda, who has silkscreened photos of the Oshiage landscape, and Ryosuke Misawa, who painted a portrait of Andy Warhol that symbolizes the hotel's concept. The guest rooms are also decorated with paintings that match the theme of the rooms, including warm, narrative pieces by Maki Kobayashi, who creates picture books and coloring books.

Case 2: The BASE (Alpen Group) in Wing Hills Shiratori Resort
Artwork inspired by the natural beauty of Shirotori is displayed throughout the ski resort facilities.

Minori Imai "Homing"

Artworks are displayed throughout the resort, including restaurants, to help guests relax while enjoying skiing in the great outdoors. The names of the places where the resort is located, Shirotori (Swan) and Itoshiro (Itoshiro), tell the story of how Yamato Takeru became a large "white bird," and the legends and history of Izanagi and Izanami and the "white clouds." Some of the artwork has been newly created and installed by artists in collaboration with the facility and the artists, with the aim of creating artwork that will inspire visitors to look at the resort's beautiful scenery from a new perspective.
Featured artists: Saki Maeda, Ko Taniguchi, Minori Imai, and others (as of 2024)
