A journey to a new future begins in Karuizawa
The first event was held in October 2022. The latest electric vehicles (EVs), heritage vehicles that tell the story, and camper vans that families can enjoy were all gathered together, providing an opportunity for many visitors to experience the potential and appeal of cars. By combining the charm of the special place Karuizawa with future-oriented car lifestyle proposals, and leveraging synergies with CCC Group companies in the car lifestyle field, we are shaping the future of mobility from a multifaceted perspective.
"KARUIZAWA MOTOR GATHERING" evolves every year
The second "KARUIZAWA MOTOR GATHERING 2023 SPRING" will be held in the spring of 2023, and will have evolved even further. The scale of the event was expanded 1.5 times compared to last year, and the incorporation of cutting-edge technology, such as the supply of electricity to the venue using "V2L power supply," attracted attention. In each zone where the latest EVs and vintage cars were on display, visitors were able to experience firsthand the intersection of "future" and "tradition."
Then, in the fall of 2023, the third "KARUIZAWA MOTOR GATHERING 2023 Autumn" will see the launch of a new event: the "Concours of Elegance," where car enthusiasts can show off their prized vehicles. The event was open to cars manufactured before 1999, and visitors voted for the "People's Choice" award, creating a lively opportunity to share their love and passion for cars.
In addition, in the outdoor zone, in collaboration with outdoor brands, we have created a space where you can experience activities such as campervans, bonfires, and marshmallow roasting. The exhibit, which combined camper vans with outdoor gear, proposed cars not just as a means of transportation, but as a lifestyle item that coexists with nature.
The challenge of a sustainable future
CCC's goal with this event is to promote a car life that leads to a sustainable future. All programs, including test drives of the latest EVs and eco-friendly vehicles, heritage car exhibits, and outdoor experience suggestions, are based on the theme of harmony between people, nature, and cars.
In particular, "V2L power supply," which utilizes the power supply capacity of EVs, is expected to serve as a power source in times of disaster, and is an attempt to demonstrate the potential of a sustainable society.
From Karuizawa to the whole country
CCC is also looking to expand "KARUIZAWA MOTOR GATHERING" beyond Karuizawa to the whole of Japan. This event, held amidst the beautiful scenery of Karuizawa, is a place to connect people with each other, and people with nature, through cars.
By proposing new car lifestyles from the place where the history and future of Karuizawa intersect, we will continue to enrich people's lives and move forward towards realizing a sustainable society.
